HIGH PRECISION CARTRIDGE SPINDLE: High precision cartridge type spindle is supported by 4 high precision preloaded angular contact ball bearings and is driven by V3 class motor that allows high accurate grinding performance.

HIGH ANTI-WEAR GUIDE WAYS: The saddle rests on precision hand-scraped double V Turcite-B ways; the table rests on precision ball rolling ways. These guide ways are equipped with an auto lubrication system to resist premature wear and they are hand scraped or hardened & ground to 1/10,000″ per 12″.

HIGH RIGID CASTING CONSTRUCTION: Machines are casted with high grade casting iron with heavy walls and reinforced ribs to provide excellent rigidity and damping.

ENLARGED COLUMN AND BASE: An enlarged column and base creates high stability and rigidity. The height of the column is increased up to 19.3″ from table surface to the center line of spindle.

TABLE DRIVE: For handfeed models, the table drive makes use of cable which encloses high tensile steel cores that ensures more smooth table movement and longevity. The table handwheel can be indexed to 9 different positions withou backlash for more convenient operation. (618AH II has hydraulic table.)

PRECISION GRINDING SPINDLE:

The precision cartridge spindle is greased and free of maintenance.

Built with four (4) preloaded class 9 super precision angular contact ball bearings suitable for heavy grinding.

The spindle is directly coupled to a V3 motor. This ensures spindle run out accuracy of less than 0.002mm (.00008”).
MACHINE CONSTRUCTION:

The main components of the machine, including the base, column and saddle, are made of High Quality Meehanite cast iron which is stress relieved to insure rigid stability.
SLIDEWAYS:

Both longitudinal and cross slide ways are precisely hand-scraped and laminated with Turcite-B.

This provides a smooth travel and even low wear.
TABLE CONSTRUCTION:

The unique design of the longitudinal and cross slideway’s Full Support System maintains accuracy during table reversing and full length of travel.

K.O. Lee Universal Tool & Cutter Grinders:
40M &60M
K.O. Lee Universal Tool Cutters Grinders are machine tools that sharpen tool bits, milling cutters and other cutting tools. Our Tool & Cutter Grinders have the reliability and longevity characteristic of the K.O. Lee name.
Wheelhead
The wheelhead is designed so that it can be tilted easily to ± 15 degrees. It can be swiveled 360 degrees on the horizontal plane. Both of these features make it easy to set rake and relief angles.
Grinding Wheel Spindle Assembly
The K.O. Lee industrial surface grinder spindle assembly is designed so that the spindle shaft is supported by two pairs of angular ball bearings; i.e. one pair at each end of the spindle support. The spindle is grease lubricated for life and no additional lubrication isrequired.
Universal Workhead
The workhead can be positioned on the table as desired by the operator and can be swiveled accurately at any horizontal and vertical angle. It has a taper hole in each end of the spindle; i.e. NT#50 / MT5.
Table
In order to machine various grinding requirements, the table can be easily controlled from fine to rapid feed range. The table feed mechanism is designed to be controlled by finger tip action. The spring cushioned table dogs are used for both positioning the table as well as absorbing table return traverse shock. The table ways are hardened, ground and anti-friction bearings are used. It swivels 120 degrees.
Tailstock
The right and left tailstocks can be easily positioned any place on the table. The right tailstock has a retractable center for easy mounting and is mounting of the workpiece.
Lubrication
The machine has a centralized lubrication system.
